Dear pilots,

It is with regret that we inform you that all flying activities at all of our flying sites are suspended, effective immediately, until further notice.

The new certificates of insurance for our club and for the landowners who own our various launches and LZs have not yet been issued by our insurer, the Recreation RRG, in spite of us submitting our annual renewal package several days before the deadline of February 10, 2024.  Our previous certificates of insurance expired yesterday, March 1st.  All of our landowners require permit holders (i.e. our club) to carry general liability insurance as a condition of the permit.

We were informed yesterday evening (March 1) by the RRRG that our renewal was “under review” and then “approved”, so we hope to receive our certificates soon (within the next few days).  However, without the new certificates in hand, we and the landowners whose sites we fly at are effectively uninsured.

We will let you know as soon as we have an update.  As always, thanks to our site chairs and club secretary Evan for doing the hard work of getting our renewals done.
